Recent U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Advisories
- March 19, 2010: Zocor (simvastatin): FDA notified healthcare professionals and patients that there is an increased risk of muscle injury in patients taking the highest approved dose of Zocor (simvastatin) 80 mg, compared to patients taking lower doses of simvastatin and possibly other drugs in the "statin" class.
- March 12, 2010: Plavix (clopidogrel): FDA notified healthcare professionals and patients that a Boxed Warning has been added to the prescribing information.
- March 11, 2010: Oral Bisphosphonates: FDA recommends that healthcare professionals follow the recommendations in the drug label when prescribing oral bisphosphonates. Patients should continue taking oral bisphosphonates unless told by their healthcare professional to stop.
